My mother and father both supported my love of the martial arts and drumming. I was a professional

I began training with H.W. Nashi (India) in Transendental Medatation and Kundalini Za Zen. This is when I became very involved in the "Dead Arts." Anicent martial arts that were forgotten or abandoned by its students because of the esoteric and physical challenges. I began teaching for Master Nashi in my first dojo on September 9th, 1966 in Valley Station, Kentucky.

While exploring other arts (Wing Chun, Chi Kung, Maui Thai) in the early 70's, I began training under
Master G.C. Cowan at Cowan's Kwanza Mandinka Judo and Karate Academy. This was the home of the world famous Raheem Family. Under Master Cowan's guidence opened up Cowan's Mandinka Karate Academy South in Valley Village, Kentucky. This school evolved into the Sho Chiku Bai Martial Arts Academy with four locations.

In 1980, I began training under Master Ji Yong Song in Judakwon Taekwondo for U.S. Olympic Team, earned 1st degree shodan from the World Taekwondo Federation. I moved to Lexington, Kentucky to teach Japanese Shito Ryu Karatedo, Shotokan, Kobudo, Shurei Goju, Goju, Jujitsu, and Judo while training 12 hours a day 7 days a week in Taekwondo. I earned an alternate fighter position on the United States Olympic Taekwondo Demo Team.

Fought AAU Karate Nationals from 1980 to 1984, won the gold medal with the United States Marine Corp KarateTeam.

In 1985 began fighting in PKA Full Contact Kickboxing, fought for WKA, ISKA and became a
promoter/trainer in 1991. During this time I was selected through the U.N. as the head instructor for the Royal Bhutanese Army under King Wang Chuck-Thundarr, Bhutan Tibet. Project stopped due to terrorist activities on the border.

In 1986, I co-founded Shangtedo (3 wisphers of the wind) in Swaziland, South Africa with the Swaziland Police Department. Currently 3 schools in operation with WAKO.

On August 23,1988 became the first and only person ever to be inducted in the International Karate Hall of Fame with Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis and Bong Soo Han (Billy Jack).

Fought full contact until 1997, 4 world rankings with the USKA in New Orleans in the bare knuckle art of Koshiki.

In 1997 I was promoted Master status in Taekwondo by president Bill Clinton and the Government of South Korea.

Trained with the 10th degree masters in Goju at the World Championships in Naha, Okinawa and the opening of the world's largest dojo.

From 1997 to now... training and teaching with even more energy in and out of the Valhalla dojos
Black Belt in 10 arts, 38 countries, 41 organizations and Armed Forces, I am constantly being blessed.

Much more to do when you live in the FOREVER NOW. My current martial arts adventure is the most ambitous and dangerous of my life, customed made for a 3 toed dragon.

I learn from eveyone and everything-the journey never ends...

I want to thank God, MY TEACHERS who were actually my students, and my wonderful parents for this grand adventure-thank you.
